Lake Image Systems to Partner with Domino Amjet at Labelexpo Americas 2008

Henrietta, NY; September 2008—At Labelexpo Americas 2008, Lake Image Systems will partner with Domino Amjet in Booth 1921 to demonstrate the latest technology for  label data verification.  The Lake Image Systems IntegraScan camera-based verification system will be running live on a narrow web flexo press to continuously check bar code legibility and human readability at press speeds.  Simultaneously providing essential capabilities in the print verification system, the Lake Image Systems IntegraScan:

• Reads and verifies each label bar code to ensure proper code quality
• Checks each printed label for legibility of human readable information
• Identifies missing/duplicate labels
• Creates audit trail for ePedigree and “track & trace” applications
• Marks the printed web, at press speeds, to positively identify missing, illegible defective labels
• Generates integrity reports to prove the integrity of the production run and provide an audit trail.

 

At Labelexpo Americas 2008, the IntegraScan camera will be mounted on the press, and will image the entire label being printed.  The Lake Image Systems IntegraScan is capable of operating at speeds as high as 90,000 labels per hour, with 100 percent data integrity inspection.  Inputs are provided to machine controls which mark faulty label images, stop the press, and/or alert the operator based on a user-definable number of errors.  Using the IntegraScan, label printers can automatically identify integrity errors without inspection labor expense, while creating production reports to comply with service level agreement contracts.  Commenting on the new system, Lake Image Systems vice-president Pat Hoskins said: “The Lake Image Systems IntegraScan reduces the label printer’s risk associated with high integrity labels while reducing labor expense associated with manual inspection and reconciliation.”
