Lake Image Systems’ IMB inspection solutions verify that all printed IMB codes comply to USPS specifications.  The camera, mounted at the output of inserting, inkjet or stitching equipment measures the tolerances of every code against official specifications and takes an action (such as stop or divert) upon a user defined number of failures.  The system includes comprehensive piece and job level reporting.  The camera also provides simultaneous verification utilizing Discovery’s other verification tools.  Either by itself or combined with other cameras on the same device, the system can provide simultaneous:

• Matching of IMB camera to additional cameras mounted on input or feeders of inserter/stitcher.  Discovery can match human readable numbers, parsed characters from IMB code, bar-codes, 2D codes or utilize a database to ensure the correct items are merged together.
• Tray/bundle break sorting to automatically separate (and report) pieces for proper tray/bundle breaks
• Missing/Duplicate piece detection by comparing production to a data file or verifying sequencing to ensure no missing, duplicate or double stuffed pieces occur in a production run
• Image archiving to save camera images of all mail pieces or “defects” which are identified in a job
