Ad pages fall, but pace of decline slows

New York—Print ad pages continued to fall in April, but the rate of decline eased, according to data released Tuesday by American Business Media.
Ad pages declined 4.7% in April compared with the same month last year.
In each month this year, the rate of decline has slowed from the previous month. In January the decline was 15.3%; in February, 9.4%; and in March, 5.7%. Year-to-date through April, ad pages fell 8.2% compared with the same period last year. A few categories were up year to date, including health care (up 9.9%) and aviation, aerospace and military (up 3.5%).
