GrayHair: NCOA Update
As you may know, the USPS’s Move Update regulations changed on November 23, 2008. All First Class and Standard mailings are now required to be processed through an approved USPS Move Update method (recommended is NCOA with ACS) within 95 days of the mailing. Earlier this year, postal regulators announced penalties for Move Update non-compliance that go into effect on January 4, 2010. Although there is an initial 30% tolerance, many mailings may be very close to the edge. The fines are $0.07 per mail piece against the failing portion of the mailing and can trigger an audit of all your mailing activities. That could result in thousands of dollars in penalties.
Do you know if your mail will pass these address quality tests or the potential fine you could get? GrayHair does!
GrayHair is proud to announce the release of Address Score™, a service that can check the quality of your addresses and provide valuable feedback. Most importantly, it can identify problems early and protect you against penalties.
Just as a consumer cares about their credit score, GrayHair’s Address Score service will allow companies to check their own move update compliance. This service can provide companies with insight and possible direction on where to find the potential problem in their enterprise postal move update process.
Brought to you by the addressing experts at GrayHair Software, Address Score provides a quick glimpse of key indicators of the address quality on a mailing list. The score card that you will receive provides an overall raw score. It also highlights and attempts to identify the risk of the potential USPS Performance-Based Verification Failure and penalty fines.
